Executive Meetings - Monday May 18th & Monday 1st July
AGM
Our AGM was held on the evening of 1st July 2009 at
the
Copthorne Hotel Commodore. Our Guest
Speaker this
year at the AGM was Education Minister Anne Tolley.
The
event saw our current Committee nominated for another
year
plus we have gained Richard Dear, from Christchurch South
Intermediate as a new Member of the executive for the 2010
year.
Fees for the 2010 year will remain unchanged
and the
attendees were updated on a number of issues we are currently
working on such as Transport, National Standards, Property
etc.
Hon. Anne Tolley spoke for just under two hours and answered
questions from the floor on a number of pertinant current issues our
Member School Boards are facing both regionally and nationally. The

DISCUSSION - GUEST SPEAKER LESTER FLOCKTON
October 22nd at the Cashmere Club start time 7pm.
Lester discussed the implications and misconceptions of of National Standards and explored the statistics of similar systems implemented around the world and raised the question as to whether National Standards will have the potential to lift the long "dog tail" of children left behind in our schools today.
