Paul McGirr Seminar, March 2009
Our first 2009 1 Forum was based around "The Finance Function" within Schools and addressed issues such as; Delegated Authorities, purchasing for goods/services, payments, GST, budgeting, Role of Service provider (either internal or external resource), monthly reporting, forecasts, Annual reporting & monitoring by the Ministry. Paul presented this seminar by posing the topics as questions - schools who were in attendance found the topics very useful and went away with lots of questions as to the way their Boards operated. Several schools contacted Paul afterwards to request an individual consultation and many more asked for copies of the slides and the financial model questionnaire which Paul used as an example.
